Are you looking for ways to promote your Web site? The more targeted traffic you get, the more sales you will make. Let’s look at five quick and easy ways to get traffic and rankings.

1. Pay Attention to Basics: Your Pages’ Titles and Descriptions — They’re Free Advertising

Google and the other search engines will advertise your site for free for you, using precisely the keywords and descriptions you want. Take advantage of that free largesse.

Here’s how. Look at your site’s home page in any browser. What do you see at the very top of the browser window? If you see “Home” you need to act.

Fix the “keyword” and “description” meta tags on every page of your site. Remember, when people are searching online, your site gets advertised for free by appearing in the search engine results pages.

2. Get Links, but Ensure They’re Relevant

Without links, the Web wouldn’t exist. All other things being equal, a site with many links will be ranked more highly than sites with few links. Get relevant links to your site. There are many ways to do this.

3. Get Into Google News

Want your site to appear in Google News? Here’s how: write a press release, and post it on one of the commercial press release sites. In long term traffic boosts, and ranking boosts, this will be the best money you’ll ever spend.

4. Create and Promote Your Blog to Drag Your Site Into the Rankings

Do you have a blog? Create a blog for your site. The search engines love blogs, and your blog can drag the rest of your site into the search engine rankings. Pay attention to the keywords you use in your blog; use the keywords for which you want to be ranked, and link to the rest of your site with those keywords.

5. Advertise Frugally: Use Pay Per Click (PPC) to Get an Instant Flow of Traffic

The fastest way to get good traffic is to advertise. However, be frugal when you do this. Bid only on the keywords which are directly relevant to your site’s offerings. Ensure that your keywords are “long tail” — avoid competitive keywords.

Looking for a niche marketing strategy? How much money you make in your affiliate marketing efforts is directly related to the niches you choose, so choose them with care. In this article we’ll look at niche-hunting strategies.

Here are three steps to finding great niches which will be profitable for you.

1. Low Competition or High Competition?

Your first step is to make a decision: do you want to enter a niche in which there’s low competition, or high competition? You can dominate low competition niches more quickly, but since low competition means that it’s a niche which isn’t highly profitable, you won’t make as much money.

If you choose a niche in which there’s a lot of competition, it means that there’s a lot of money to be made, but you’ll need to spend more time in research to find micro niches within the niche, and in testing, to discover where and how you can make money despite the competition.

For example, let’s say that you decide to enter the “weight loss” niche. This is a highly competitive niche, and making money will be tough, so you need to find micro niches within the niche.

In our next step, you’ll do that.

2. Watch TV, and Research Niches on Forums

Do you enjoy watching TV? Here’s how to use your TV to find great niches.

You’ve decided that “weight loss” is much too broad a niche for you to make money. While watching TV, you see some ads for losing weight after having a baby. This is a niche you could target, and stand a chance of making money — if it turns out that women who’ve had babies are buying weight loss materials online.

There are many weight loss forums. Visit some of them, and read the discussions. If it turns out they’re spending money, you’ve found a niche.

3. Keep Testing, Test a New New Every Day or Week

Every affiliate marketer has wasted time and money in niches which just don’t turn a profit. Therefore, don’t be disappointed if a niche you’ve chosen won’t make money for you.

Test another niche.

If you’re always looking for fresh niches, sooner or later you’ll come up with a couple of winning niches which coin money, so find use the above steps to find money-making niches fast.
