Therefore, get familiar with the product or service that you’re promoting. Remember that each article you write is an introduction to that product, and make that introduction count.

2. What Do Your Prospects Get out of Your Promotions?

In your articles, you’re giving away free information. You need to ensure that that information is valuable to your prospects. If it’s not valuable, and not credible, you’re doing a disservice to whatever it is you’re promoting.

Remember that your articles will stay online for years, and will keep selling for you for years, but only if they stay in the search engines’ indices. If people click away from your articles instantly, your articles will be be dumped, and won’t be visible to searchers.

This is why it’s a mistake to focus solely on quick clicks.

Article views matter little: what matters is the response. It’s much better to get fewer article views and more sales rather than many article views and no sales at all.

Therefore, make your articles credible and valuable. Every article you write could still be selling for you five years from now — if you put little effort into them.

3. Plan and Execute: Schedule Your Promotions

Article marketing is becoming more competitive. It’s always been popular, but as more businesses become aware of the value of article marketing, there’s more competition for article views.

This means that you need to write more articles to get results this year than you needed to write last year, and you’ll need to write even more articles next year to get the same results.

Therefore, you need to create plans and execute them. Once you’ve executed a plan, review it, to see what the results were.

Start by creating a plan by which you select new products. Write out the process you follow in a list, and work out how long each step in the process takes you. Now you know how long it takes you to select a product.

Streamline your process, so that you eliminate wasted time.

2. Create a Plan to Promote Your Products

Now you have a time-saving plan to select products, you need a plan to promote them.

Whatever form of promotion you use, whether you use PPC advertising, free advertising, or use a process like article marketing, everything takes time.

Which product makes the most money for you? If a product is making money for you, you’ve worked out a way to promote it which works. Write down your process, and work out how long it takes.

Now you know how long it takes you to promote one successful product, work out how many hours each week you can spare for promotion. Once you know how many hours you can devote to it, you can schedule those hours.

3. Schedule Time, Every Day — Get up Earlier

The harder you work, the luckier you get.

Therefore the more hours you can devote to your affiliate marketing business, the more profitable your business will be.

The easiest way to add more hours to your day is to get up earlier. Get up an hour earlier than you do now and devote that hour to your business.

Article Marketing for Affiliate Products: 3 Reasons It’s Not Working

Are you using article marketing to promote affiliate products? This can be a very effective strategy, however it’s also a much-used strategy, so there’s lots of competition. Here are three reasons that it may not be working for you.

1. You’re Promoting the Wrong Product(s)

If you’re promoting products which are extremely popular, you have lots of competition. This means that you’ll need to think of innovative ways in which to get people to buy from your affiliate link. You can’t do the same promotions that everybody else is doing and expect to make lots of sales.

Products come into fashion, and they go out of fashion, so ideally you’ll start promoting a product when it’s just coming into fashion — just before it gets hot. If you’re promoting when a product is nearing the end of its popularity, you won’t make sales.

You need to test lots of products, and then focus on the products which start to make sales.

2. You’re Promoting to the Wrong Audience

Every product in existence has more than one audience, but affiliate marketers focus on one audience to the exclusion of others.

Choose a product which you’re currently promoting and think about other audiences the product might be suitable for. Then test the product, by using article marketing to focus on the new audience you’ve selected.

3. You’re Just Not Promoting Enough

Article marketing is effective and it’s very inexpensive. The benefit of articles is that they stay online for years, and keep selling for you for years. However, because article marketing is so effective, and because there’s a low cost of entry, it’s very competitive.

How many articles have you written to promote your latest product? If you’ve only written ten articles, you probably haven’t written enough. Depending on the niche, expect to have anywhere from 100 to 500 articles working for you, for each product group you’re promoting.

Yes, it’s a lot of articles. However you don’t need to write them all next week, you should be promoting many products, and over time you’ll build up the number of articles you have promoting each product.

You can make great money with affiliate marketing when you write articles, if you’re using the right strategies.

Product Creation Made Easy: Create an Ebook in Three Steps

Are you new to creating information products? If you are, you need a process to follow which makes it easy. Once you’ve created your first ebook, the next one will be much easier and from then on there will be no stopping you.

Let’s look at three steps you can follow.

1. How-To Ebooks Are Easy: What Do You Know How to Do?

If you need to do a lot of research, you can spend so much time on it that you never get around to creating your product.

Therefore choose a how-to topic — something which you know how to do, and which others want to learn, and which you can easily explain in your product.

Make a list of five things which you know very well, and which others would pay to learn to do. Think about your hobbies, what you’re doing your job, and what you do in your free time. Everyone has areas in which they’re an expert.

2. Outline the How-To Process: Keep It Simple

Choose one topic from your list of five.

Don’t worry about whether it’s the best topic; you’ll create more than one product. Think of this first product as a learning process. You’re learning how to do something which can make incredible money for you over time.

Next, create a list of steps in the how-to process. For example, if you want to teach someone the basics of creating an ebook cover in Photoshop, write down the steps one after another, in a list. You’re creating your ebook (or video product) chapters.

At the beginning of the list, write “Introduction”. This chapter introduces the topic, and the author, and gives instructions on how to use the ebook.

Drop down one line and write “Why.”

You need to tell people why they should learn how to create their own ebook covers in Photoshop. Reasons you could give include: it saves them money, once they know how to do it they can make money selling their services, and so on.

3. Write As if You’re Talking to a Friend: Tell Him How to Do It

Writing is easy when you think of it as talking. The best writing is completely transparent. You feel as if the writer is speaking directly to you, as if you’re chatting chat over coffee or a beer.

Go through all the steps in your list (chapters) one by one.

Make money with blogs: who clicks your ads?

When you make money blogging, you’re aiming to attract traffic from the search engines, so you can make money when your visitors click on ads, or buy affiliate products.

Oddly enough, when you’re getting search engine traffic, you don’t necessarily want any regular readers.

This seems counter-intuitive.

“Guys, regular visitors do not click ads and never will. If you think I’m doing this because my ‘readers’ are clicking ads, you obviously don’t understand the game. Searchers are the ones who will click ads and if you want to get ad clicks, you have to draw the searchers.”

So when you’re blogging for money, the search engines are your friends. Ensure that you use the keywords which will make you the most income.

Twitter Marketing: How Much Time Should You Spend on Twitter Each Day?

Are you using Twitter for marketing? Many people are using this site and are getting great results. But how much time do you need to spend? That will depend on what you want to achieve.

1. Create Plan(s) for What You Want to Achieve

Your first step is to create a plan.

Let’s say you want to use Twitter to make your affiliate marketing more effective. Write down a brief plan, with no more than four items.

For example, you could write;

* promote affiliate product X;

* write a review of product X;

* write 10 tweets promoting product X;

* Post 10 tweets throughout the day.

This plan is very simple, and easy to put into practice. (Check your sales once the plan’s completed.)

2. Decide on a Timeframe

Now that you’ve created one Twitter plan, decide on a time frame for putting that plan into action. In our simple plan above, the time frame is a single day. However often you’ll create more complex plans which will take longer to complete.

Remember that Twitter should be an adjunct to the other forms of marketing you do. It can make all your other marketing much more effective.

Want to rely just on Twitter? Unfortunately, unless you have hundreds of thousands of followers, it’s unlikely that you could make a great living using the site on its own.

Therefore incorporate tweeting into all your marketing activities, rather than thinking of it as something apart.

For example, perhaps you’re setting up a new Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign. You’ll run the campaign for the next three months. Work out how you can incorporate Twitter into that campaign, and then create a plan for doing so.

3. Use Tools Which Will Help You to Spread Your Tweets Throughout the Day

There are various Twitter automation tools, and while most of them are quite useless, there are several tools which will allow you to write your Twitter posts, and then have them automatically posted at times you choose.

These tools are great, because you can maintain a presence on Twitter even while you’re occupied with other things or are fast asleep.

Internet Marketing: It’s More Than Promotion, Remember the 4Ps

Are you happy with the results you’re getting from Internet marketing? If you’re not, go back to basics, with the “4Ps” of marketing. You’ll be glad you did.

In a nutshell, the 4Ps are: product, price, promotion and place.

1. Product, Price, Promotion and Place

Every marketing course teaches the 4Ps; these four keys are fundamental. They give you a way to think about your marketing. When you have these basics in place, your efforts have a much greater chance for success.

If you’re doing affiliate marketing for example, think about the product you want to promote in terms of the 4Ps before you decide to promote it. If the product is too expensive, or isn’t being promoted, then it may not make money for you.

Selling your own information or other product? Make sure you get the product right — it has to be appropriate for its audience. Think about the price, and test various price points.

2. Position the Product for Its Price

Positioning is vital. Think about the product. Who would use it? When you know who the end-users are, you can promote the product effectively.

For example, let’s say you’re thinking of promoting a digital camera which sells for $5000. The market for this digital camera will be both amateur photographers and professionals. The amateur photographers who pay this amount of money for a camera are real enthusiasts.

They probably belong to a camera club, and enter their photos in competitions. This gives you a clue about positioning. In your promotions, position it as the “ultimate” enthusiasts’ choice. If possible, talk to people who use the camera, and know its foibles.

Check out camera clubs and competitions online, and promote the product on those sites. Don’t forget off-line promotions too, many clubs have newsletters so it’s a good idea to buy some ads in these publications.

3. Promotion Not Working? Improve the Product, or Promote Something Else

Sometimes no matter what you do you just can’t sell a particular product. This happens. Remember the 4Ps: go over them again. You’re sure to find that you made a minor error in one of them. Correct the error, and try again.

Writing articles is a very effective way of promoting products to earn an affiliate income. Let’s look at a very simple process that you can use to get started immediately. You can make money online completely for free.

1. Choose a Product to Promote and Research It

This is the most important part of the process. Many people write reviews online, and then use article marketing to promote those reviews. Over time you will become more proficient and fast. In the beginning however, expect it to take time to research products and to write, because you’re learning what works for you.

Choose a product that you use, in any area you know something about. This makes it easier to write articles.

The results you get will depend not only on a the popularity of the product you’ve chosen, but also on your competition.

Knowing that other people are promoting the same product is a good thing: this shows that the item is popular, and you will make sales. However, you’ll need to do a little more keyword research to find less popular keywords so that you can start getting traffic quickly.

Tip: brainstorm keywords — don’t rely solely on keyword tools: this enables you to find unique keywords which others aren’t targeting.

2. Plan your Articles: How Many? Schedule Them

The more articles you write, the more traffic you will get to your reviews. Create a plan. Decide how many articles you will write, and when you’ll write them. Then add the tasks into your calendar program.

For example, you could decide that you’ll write 100 articles over three months for an item.

3. Put Your Plan Into Action and Track the Results

Many people fail at article marketing because they expect instant results. While this can happen, you’re more likely to get results over months and years rather than over days.

Some of your articles will get more views than others. This is a good indicator of interest. Write more articles for that item, using similar keywords.
