ClickBank Affiliate: How Important is Gravity?

Imagine creating a blog which you KNOW will make an income...

You've heard about the great income you can make blogging, and how easy it is.

Unfortunately, most bloggers don't succeed, because they don't have a method to follow.

Now you can discover the secrets of blogging success with Angela Booth's Lazy Rich Blogger method. You can start today.

If you’re a ClickBank affiliate, you’re aware of gravity. Indeed, you may choose to promote products based solely on this particular indicator. If lots of affiliates are promoting the product, it must be great, right?

The short answer is: Maybe.

Perhaps the product is attracting lots of affiliates because it’s a great product, and it’s selling like the proverbial hot cakes.

On the other hand, the product may simply have had a huge launch. Launches attract affiliates. As the product’s gravity surges, more affiliates jump on: this is the reason why product creators aim to make their launch as big as possible: success breeds success.

What hidden gems are you missing out on when you focus on gravity?

Here’s a secret about ClickBank gravity: low gravity means little competition. As long as a low-gravity product meets a need, and it has a good sales page, then chances are you can do very well with it.

I like to test lots of new products — products which are so new, that they have no gravity at all. Some of these products are duds, but the occasional one is a little goldmine. With no competition, you can sell these products day after day, making a juicy little income on just four or five of these treasures.

Here’s what I do. I visit the ClickBank Research page on Wealthy Affiliate regularly, at least once or twice every week, and I check out the new products. If I find a product in a niche in which I’m interested, which has a good sales page, I buy the product (this is essential), and if I like it, I start promoting it.

Here’s what’s wrong with this method: I need to shift a lot of dirt before I find a diamond.

On the bright side, if I’ve found a diamond, I’ve found a product which will make money for me for months (if I’m lucky for years) to come.

How to find an affiliate product to promote

Many new affiliate marketers are hesitant to start, because they’re not sure how to find a product to promote.

Often they’ll choose a product in which they have little or no interest, simply because others are making money with the product. This can be a mistake, especially if you have no personal interest in the product.

Let’s look at three easy ways in which you can choose a product which you can promote with enthusiasm, so that you can make sales quickly.

1. Consider your life experience

What’s happening in your life right now? Perhaps you’re new mom. If so there’s an endless variety of parenting products which you can promote. Think about products which you’ve purchased recently.

Perhaps you bought a pram. Find out whether the pram has an affiliate program. If so, you’re in a great position to market that product well. You know the pros and cons of the product, so you can sell with enthusiasm, and will make many sales.

2. Consider your obsessions

Perhaps you love fashion, or you love to travel. Both areas offer plentiful affiliate programs.

Anything which you love to study, read about, and talk about, is a good area in which to search for affiliate programs.

3. Watch out for new product launches

Whenever a new product is launched, many affiliates start promoting it. This means that there’s an incredible amount of buzz, which leads to recognition, and sales.

Choose a product which is coming out soon, and make plans to promote it. Learn everything you can about it. Affiliate program managers usually make lots of material available — they’ll give you creative material like banner ads, as well as copy for sales pages. This gives you a great head start in promoting the product.

Choosing a great affiliate product to promote starts with YOU. What do you love, which you could tell others about?

Are you using article marketing to promote affiliate products? This can be a very effective strategy, however it’s also a much-used strategy, so there’s lots of competition. Here are three reasons that it may not be working for you.

1. You’re Promoting the Wrong Product(s)

If you’re promoting products which are extremely popular, you have lots of competition. This means that you’ll need to think of innovative ways in which to get people to buy from your affiliate link. You can’t do the same promotions that everybody else is doing and expect to make lots of sales.

Products come into fashion, and they go out of fashion, so ideally you’ll start promoting a product when it’s just coming into fashion — just before it gets hot. If you’re promoting when a product is nearing the end of its popularity, you won’t make sales.

You need to test lots of products, and then focus on the products which start to make sales.

2. You’re Promoting to the Wrong Audience

Every product in existence has more than one audience, but affiliate marketers focus on one audience to the exclusion of others.

Choose a product which you’re currently promoting and think about other audiences the product might be suitable for. Then test the product, by using article marketing to focus on the new audience you’ve selected.

3. You’re Just Not Promoting Enough

Article marketing is effective and it’s very inexpensive. The benefit of articles is that they stay online for years, and keep selling for you for years. However, because article marketing is so effective, and because there’s a low cost of entry, it’s very competitive.

How many articles have you written to promote your latest product? If you’ve only written ten articles, you probably haven’t written enough. Depending on the niche, expect to have anywhere from 100 to 500 articles working for you, for each product group you’re promoting.

Yes, it’s a lot of articles. However you don’t need to write them all next week, you should be promoting many products, and over time you’ll build up the number of articles you have promoting each product.

You can make great money with affiliate marketing when you write articles, if you’re using the right strategies.
