The social media sites like Twitter and Facebook can help you to get traffic to your blog. If you don’t have much money to spend on promotion, these sites can provide you with traffic, for free.

Let’s look at the top five ways to get traffic from the social media sites.

1. Blog Often: More Content and More Followers Mean More Traffic

You’ll be encouraging your followers to visit your blog, therefore it’s essential that you have content for them to read.

One of the big challenges is that it’s hard to get this kind of traffic to convert. Visitors stay for seconds, and leave. Therefore, your aim should be to convert as many visitors as possible so that they become regular readers.

If your blog is new, that is under a year old, you should be spending more time blogging and adding content, than interacting on the social media sites. The more content you have, the more chances you’ll have to win regular readers.

2. Make the News With a Press Release

Many of the commercial press release services include social media options. Investing in several news releases over three months is a great investment in search engine rankings, and blog traffic.

3. Set Goals, and Create a Plan

Do you have goals for your blog? Many new bloggers don’t. I encourage you to create some goals. The five minutes you invest now ensure that your blog will continue to grow, and will deliver the results you want.

You may have several goals, but focus on one goal at a time, and create a blog in plan for each goal.

4. Make It Easy for Followers to Subscribe via RSS

Make the most of your blog’s RSS feed.

Encourage your blog’s visitors to subscribe via a newsreader. Your aim should be not merely to get traffic, but to increase your subscribers. A great way to do this is to offer an incentive for subscriptions.

Many autoresponder applications can integrate with your RSS feed, so that each time you make a post, it’s sent to your subscribers via email.

5. Ask Questions, and Get Ideas for Your Blog

The social media sites are all about interaction. Ask questions of others, and answer the questions that others have posted. Then create blog posts about these questions and your responses.

You can also mine your Twitter stream for blog content ideas: when you blog about what’s being discussed, you’ll get more traffic.

Want to make money blogging? You can. If you want a simple and easy formula that anybody can follow, here are five secrets you can use today.

1. Choose a Product or Service to Promote Which Sells

New bloggers start off thinking that it’s all about the blog. They spend hours tinkering with the template they’re using, and in the case of WordPress, adding plug-ins which may or may not be useful.

This is silly. When you’re blogging to make money, you’ll only make money when you sell something. So your aim should be sales, always. Once you’re making sales, tinker with the blog, but not before.

Big tip: remember that it’s easiest to sell something which is already selling. If other people are selling a product, you can too.

Therefore choose a product which is highly popular and which many people are buying as your first product to promote.

2. Review the Product

Once you’ve chosen your product, write a review. This review doesn’t need to be extensive or complicated. You should however have used the product, or in the case of an information product, have read it or watched it. It’s very difficult to write authoritatively about a product about which you know nothing.

3. Repeat #1 and #2

Once you are making sales with one product, choose another to promote and write review of this product.

4. Create Another Blog, or Expand on the Original

It’s your choice whether you create a new blog for each product you promote, or promote many products on the same blog.

Keep your eyes on sales. Keep blogging about the products which are making sales. You don’t need to write review posts only, you can write simple posts about your experiences with the product. Remember that the selling is done on the sales pages of the product you’re promoting, so your posts should be informative rather than sales material.

If you’re comfortable with videos, create a video or two of you using the product. Videos always sell and they provide an additional way for you to get on the front page of Google and the other search engines.

5. Remember That Targeted Traffic Sells: Focus on Sales

While traffic to your blog is wonderful, untargeted traffic is useless. You want targeted traffic — that is, people who are interested in what you’re promoting and are interested in buying.

If you keep creating content for your blog or blogs, you’ll make sales. The sales will snowball, and gradually you’ll go from making one sale a week to making several sales per day, and then many sales a day.

Article Writing: Make Easy Profits Fast

Want to make money with article writing? Because articles are so popular online, online marketers want and need them. This means you can get hired to write, but you can also use your skills on your own behalf, and make much more than you can when you write for others.

But how do you get started? Here’s an easy process you can follow, outlining a couple of ways in which you can make great profits. (Hint: there are many more ways, get creative.)

1. Choose a Topic, Create a Blog

Start by choosing a topic with which you’re familiar, and that you enjoy writing about. Countless new parents choose the “parenting” topic, for example. When you choose a topic like this, you’ve got daily inspiration, because you’re writing about what’s happening in your own life.

Big tip: before you choose a topic, make sure that you can make money with this topic. Some topics just aren’t able to be monetized, either because the audience isn’t online, or because the audience doesn’t spend money on their interest.

Once you’ve chosen a “money” topic, create a blog. If you’re experienced, create a WordPress or Joomla blog on your own site. If you’re new, then just create a free Blogger blog.

Now post your articles to your own blog, and spend a little time each day looking for ways to monetize your articles.

2. Sell an Affiliate Product with Your Articles

Affiliate marketing is a boon for article writers. When you’re selling an affiliate product, a single article can keep on making money for you for years.

Some of the most popular article directories frown on affiliate links, so here’s how to manage that: buy a domain name, and then redirect it to the merchant via your affiliate link. A domain name is around $10, but with a collection of articles constantly sending traffic, you can make many times that amount daily.

Article writing can be your route to easy profits. With the Web growing daily, so are your opportunities.

“Affiliate marketing is a scam!”
