ClickBank Affiliate: How Important is Gravity?

Imagine creating a blog which you KNOW will make an income...

You've heard about the great income you can make blogging, and how easy it is.

Unfortunately, most bloggers don't succeed, because they don't have a method to follow.

Now you can discover the secrets of blogging success with Angela Booth's Lazy Rich Blogger method. You can start today.

If you’re a ClickBank affiliate, you’re aware of gravity. Indeed, you may choose to promote products based solely on this particular indicator. If lots of affiliates are promoting the product, it must be great, right?

The short answer is: Maybe.

Perhaps the product is attracting lots of affiliates because it’s a great product, and it’s selling like the proverbial hot cakes.

On the other hand, the product may simply have had a huge launch. Launches attract affiliates. As the product’s gravity surges, more affiliates jump on: this is the reason why product creators aim to make their launch as big as possible: success breeds success.

What hidden gems are you missing out on when you focus on gravity?

Here’s a secret about ClickBank gravity: low gravity means little competition. As long as a low-gravity product meets a need, and it has a good sales page, then chances are you can do very well with it.

I like to test lots of new products — products which are so new, that they have no gravity at all. Some of these products are duds, but the occasional one is a little goldmine. With no competition, you can sell these products day after day, making a juicy little income on just four or five of these treasures.

Here’s what I do. I visit the ClickBank Research page on Wealthy Affiliate regularly, at least once or twice every week, and I check out the new products. If I find a product in a niche in which I’m interested, which has a good sales page, I buy the product (this is essential), and if I like it, I start promoting it.

Here’s what’s wrong with this method: I need to shift a lot of dirt before I find a diamond.

On the bright side, if I’ve found a diamond, I’ve found a product which will make money for me for months (if I’m lucky for years) to come.

You’re cruising through ClickBank looking for new products to promote. You’re ready to enter a new niche and you’re excited about earning some more money with affiliate marketing. You see some good products that fall within the boundaries you’ve set up and you wouldn’t mind promoting one of them and raking in your cut of the profits, but there’s one problem… you don’t know anything about that niche. It’s an “insider’s niche” where they have their own slang and they can easily spot an outsider. How can you write your own sales page, autoresponder messages, or articles without looking like you’re clueless?

Don’t despair; there are a number of things you can do to quickly get up to speed in this new foreign niche.

1. Go to the product creator’s sales page and read it carefully. Especially take note of their bullet points, and create your own off of these. Their sales page probably uses slang words and you can study them and get a handle on what they mean.

2. Find sales pages of competing ClickBank products and study their bullet points and wording as well.

3. Look for similar books on Amazon.com and read some of the pages inside the book where they have that “Look Inside…” feature operational.

4. Find a few forums that deal with this niche and read up on it. Take notes too. Ask questions if you don’t understand something, but try not to spend too much time here. If you’re asking questions, make sure you’re asking them using a nickname. Remember, you’re going to be an expert soon.

5. Wikipedia can be really helpful because what you find here will likely include some of the slang involved in the niche. Wikipedia is a definite go-to when you’re trying to learn about a new niche; they can give you additional links to other pages you should read to familiarize yourself with the niche.

6. Do some research by putting various terms in your search engine and reading some of the suggested websites. There you go, instant material for you to learn from.

7. You could buy the product you’re going to promote and go through it. Figure out what you like about it and turn those into benefits for your sales page or articles.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to become a total expert in this new niche, you just have to know enough to put together a sales guide without looking like an idiot. If you want to create your own product for the niche, that’s one thing, but if your aim is to sell someone else’s product through your sales page or squeeze page, then don’t go overboard. Time is money and it’s likely this is not the only niche you’re working or want to work in.

Selling Online? Increase your profits

Web copywriting skills are an essential tool for your online business success.

Whatever you’re selling: whether it’s your own products and service, or whether you’re acting as an affiliate for others, you must know how to sell online.

I’ve been coaching business owners in do-it-yourself copywriting skills for several years, simply because I believe that the person who knows the most about a product is the best copywriter for it.

Now I’ve turned that material into an ebook packed with tips – Angela Booth’s “Web Copywriting Profits: DIY Copywriting”. Discover how you can increase your profits today.

As with any type of business, your marketing efforts can determine whether or not you succeed. Your information product business is no exception.

There are many methods for marketing information products; the following are some tips to help you decide which method might work best for you.

Before you decide on a method, there are some basic tools you will need. It goes without saying that you will need a website in order to sell your information product. Giving your product its own domain and having a single landing page can help increase your conversion rates.

If a visitor to your site is distracted by links to other information, she may navigate away and not come back to your sales page. However, if your visitor only sees your landing page, it will be easier to convert them into a sale. Keep your landing page neat, clean, and easy to read. Do not use distracting colors or hard to read fonts. If you are not the best copywriter, hire one to do the writing for you.

Create a free companion product that goes along with your paid product in order to build up your mailing list. For instance, if you are selling an e-book on how to pay off credit card debt, create a free e-course and include a sign up sheet on your landing page. If your visitors are somewhat reluctant to buy the e-book the fist time they come to your site, they may sign up for the free tips, and you can continue to market your e-book to them through the e-course.

You can market your product online via pay per click programs, such as Google Adwords as well as buying ad space on another website or ezine. Remember to keep your target market in mind. What keywords are they most likely to use when searching for your product? If they were surfing the web, which sites would they most likely visit and which ezines do they most likely subscribe to?

You can also market your product offline. You can create some flyers or order some business cards. Hang them up on bulletin boards around your local area. You may want to create a direct mail campaign and send postcards describing your product to people in your target market. There are several companies that sell mailing lists. You can enter in the demographics of people you want to market to, and the company will provide you with a list of addresses.

Clickbank is an online marketplace that focuses exclusively on digital products. You can set up an account for just under $50. Clickbank offers an affiliate program and once you set up an account and upload your product, any of Clickbankís affiliates can start marketing your product. For more control over who is allowed to market your product, you may want to start your own affiliate program.
