Writing Articles: Your Make-Money Plan

Imagine creating a blog which you KNOW will make an income...

You've heard about the great income you can make blogging, and how easy it is.

Unfortunately, most bloggers don't succeed, because they don't have a method to follow.

Now you can discover the secrets of blogging success with Angela Booth's Lazy Rich Blogger method. You can start today.

Are you making money writing articles? If you’d like to increase your income: plan. All successful article marketers plan, here’s how you can too.

Your make-money plan for article writing has six steps; proceed step by step.

1. Decide What You’re Selling

Your articles are advertising for a product. When a prospect clicks on the link in your resource box, visits your site, then takes action and ultimately buys the product, you earn income.

If you’re new to article marketing, choose your product with care. It should not only be a product you know well, it should also be a product you like, and enjoy recommending.

2. Choose Your “Buying” Keywords

Your next step is keyword research. Choose from three to ten keywords for your product, preferably “buying” keywords which indicate that a reader is close to making a decision to buy. For example, “[Product Name] Review” is a buying keyword.

3. Assess Your Buyers — What Do They Want from the Product?

You’ve chosen your product, and your keywords. Now it’s time to think about the product’s buyers. Try to get into the mindset of buyers. What emotional triggers will they respond to? What’s their lifestyle? What do they aspire to?

4. Write a Landing or Review Page; or Send the Buyers Directly to the Product Sales Page

Successful article marketing results in sales. Think about how many steps you need for a sale with your product. Will you write your own landing or review page, adding the link to your resource box, so you can tell readers about the product?

If the product is a high-priced item, you may want to warm your prospects up first, by offering them a freebie in exchange for their contact details, so you can tell them more about the product.

On the other hand, if the product has a great sales page, and offers visitors a free report or similar to warm them up, you may decide to send prospects directly to the product sales page. (Buy a domain name and redirect it to the sales page.)

5. Create a Campaign

Now it’s time to create a campaign. Decide how many articles you’ll write. I like to write article titles and outlines at this stage, and schedule the writing in my calendar program.

6. Track Your Results

The final step in your plan is to decide how you’ll track the results. I like to use a spreadsheet for each campaign, so I can track the articles, page visits, keywords, and sales.

Writing articles is a great way to make money online, when you start with a plan.

Want to turn articles into cash… year after year? While there are many reasons for writing articles, the primary reason is to make money. Let’s see how this works.

You can make money writing articles in many ways – by promoting your own sites and products, by affiliate marketing, and by writing articles for others.

First let’s consider a vital point: you must understand competition for attention online so that you will make great money with your articles.

Online, competition is fierce, and it’s getting fiercer. Major companies with multi-million dollar advertising budgets compete for attention with micro-businesses with zero budgets.

You can compete too, if you’re smart when you write your articles. “Writing smart” means writing articles which will get attention for years to come.

Let’s look at three tips which will help you to write smart, and turn each article you write into a cash machine.

1. Create a Goal for Each Article

Before you plan an article – or a batch of articles – create a goal.

I’ve heard of article writers bragging that they write 30 articles a day. While this is commendable, it’s rarely effective. Your primary goal is to get each article indexed in the search engines, so that it will generate traffic for years to come.

The search engines are getting smarter; if your articles aren’t well thought out and planned, and if they’re similar to what’s already indexed, they won’t get indexed at all – you may get a little traffic in the first couple of weeks, then your articles are consigned to the digital junk heap by the search engines.

2. Provide Value in Each Article So Your Readers Keep Reading Until They Hit Your Resource Box – and Click

In your articles, you freely give information: you give value. In effect, you’re paying your reader for his attention. You promise more value in your resource box, so your readers click on your links.

However, to get to your resource box, your reader needs to get to the end of the article.

Of course, your reader may click because your resource box is the only interesting thing in your article. However, remember that if this is the case, you’ll only get readers for a couple of weeks, until the search engines decide your article is junk, and toss it.

3. Create an Article Writing Campaign

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and constant streams of cash into your PayPal account aren’t created in a day either… they’re created with article writing campaigns.

So consider that each article is a brick which you’re adding to something you’re building – a campaign, which has specific, measurable goals.

Writing articles can bring a constant flow of cash, and every article you write can be a cash machine which pays out for years to come. The tips above will help.

Did you know that words equal cash online? Even as a complete beginner, you can make money online writing articles, reports and ebooks – fast. There’s never been a better time to start a highly profitable home business from your keyboard.

Let’s look at how this works by seeing how Mark did it. I heard Mark’s story from a friend and was amazed at how quickly Mark turned a few simple ebooks into an online empire.

Mark’s initial online experience was selling on eBay; this gave him a taste for selling online. A forum friend asked Mark to write ten articles for him to fulfill an order. The friend had a thriving article-writing business, but was overbooked.

Mark wrote the articles, and the money appeared in his PayPal account. This intrigued him because compared with selling on eBay, it seemed too easy. No photographing items, answering buyer questions, packing items and trudging to the post office – just tapping the keyboard, and cash.

The friend next commissioned Mark to write a 50 page ebook on cars, which Mark did, and again cash appeared in his PayPal account. He told me: “That first ebook gave me an idea. I saw that I could easily set up my own business just writing ebooks for others, and eventually even hire other people to write, so I could focus on marketing and getting new customers.”

So this is what Mark did. He bought a domain name, advertised his services, and soon had more work than he could handle. He quit his day job, sub-contracted out the writing, and concentrated on making sales.

Within nine months, Mark went from an eBay hobby seller, to someone who had a great home business with part-time employees.

I asked Mark for some tips for people new to making money from their keyboard. Here they are:

* Just get started! Write articles for anyone willing to pay you. That’s the best tip I can give, because that’s the way I started. Once you can see money coming in, you’ll be motivated;

* Sell from your own Web site. I looked at a couple of the out-sourcing sites, and you can certainly make money there, but you’ll make more from your own site;

* Visit marketing and Webmaster forums to network with others and get tips. You’ll find that you’ll easily get work from people who have too many projects, and want someone to help out, just like I did.

So there you have it. If you want to make money online, there’s no easier way than straight from your keyboard.
